Recruitment Trends 2022

b2b sales recruitment trends

“Nothing is more important than hiring and developing salespeople. At the end of the day, you bet on people, not on strategies”

2022 is almost halfway gone, and a lot of things have changed. Several industries have been recovering after the impact of COVID-19. Recruitment trends that were relevant earlier are not currently applicable.

The methods and practices for the recruitment of salesforce used before, or as a matter of fact for any position have changed.

As a sales recruiting company we can share from our experience that the traditional methods of getting people on board are long gone.

Let’s check out the ‘new’ recruitment trends that might stand strong for the upcoming years.

1. Remote Working

As companies shifted to remote work during the pandemic, employees across the world got a taste of a fully remote workplace. There’s been a clear shift in the desire for remote work opportunities, and this will be reflected in the job market. Candidates will lookout for a job that allows them to work remotely.

Many companies have already taken a step in that direction. Google shared that when it reopens its offices in the fall of 2022, the company is planning to test a flexible, hybrid work situation. Employees will be expected to spend three days per week in the office, which they say will lead to “greater productivity, collaboration, and well-being.”

By allowing employees to work remotely, even just a few days per week, you increase your company’s appeal on the hiring market — while supporting employee retention.

2. Schedule Flexibility

As the “where” changed so did the “when”.

Companies are now implementing “flexible working hours” where punch in/punch out is not the norm.

Employees are now looking for an organization that will give them the freedom to start/end the day as per their schedule making sure the daily stand-up calls/meetings are not affected.

Schedule flexibility surely has a positive impact on the environment.

3. Mental Health Benefits

Covid has taken a serious toll on our physical as well as mental health. Research studies provide strong evidence that companies with awareness of employee wellbeing are more successful.

This study concluded that there is a 12% increase in productivity in such companies. Organizations are now encouraging their employees to talk to a health care professional to release pent-up feelings. Even a small step in this direction could work wonders.

4. Employer Branding

The employer brand is an essential component of recruiting and talent acquisition process.

Let’s face it: A lot has changed rather quickly in 2020’s. We went from record lows in unemployment numbers to record highs in a matter of months.

As companies begin to reopen and employees start to work from the office, work-life balance and company culture has become something very important for employees.

Brands that promote a good culture and working environment are likely to attract the top talents

That’s why a positive brand image will be an important step in recruitment.

5. Focused Hiring From Tier 2 & 3 Cities

Jobs that can be handled digitally are increasingly becoming location-agnostic. Now, to source talent for jobs that can be handled “working from anywhere”, some companies are turning to tier-2 or tier-3 cities, even small towns, as hiring from geographies can reduce salary spends.

It is a win-win situation as the candidates also do not have to relocate on account of work. So hiring managers need to channelize their efforts for recruiting talents in these geographies as well.

6. Modernized Hiring

The digital revolution has transformed recruitment. Be it B2B recruitment or B2C or any other sort of hiring, the entire recruitment process has got a new face.

In the space of a decade, there’s been a shift from traditional job websites to an innovative world of new and exciting recruitment tools and techniques. The interesting thing is that the fundamentals used in recruitment are still present, but these technologies have brought about an innovative and dynamic evolution not only in the hiring and selection process but the job-seeking process as well.

The use of various technologies like AI (Artificial intelligence), Chatbot, Virtual reality (use of VR headset for demonstrating the organization culture), social media, Applicant tracking systems, Video interviews ease the process of recruitment even in these challenging times.B
